How can bad breath be fixed?
Some people call it mouth odour. Well, anything you call it, I know someone who is suffering from this, and he's seeking for my help as someone who studied a medical related course, but I have no idea what he could do aside from regular brushing.
Folks, what could be done to treat bad breath?

Afrowin

He should brush twice daily, morning and night and use mouthwash.
He should try and take the night brush more seriously.

Gomantics

He should change his toothbrush more often, try different toothpastes and see the one that works well for him.
He should also stop taking sugary things, if he must chew gum should be sugar-free.
Finally, if he smokes, he needs to stop now.

Famousrich

He should socialize and talk more often, he could be an introvert that doesn't talk much. If don't talk often your mouth could smell.

What kind of theory is this?
You are very funny😄

Just stop😂
Many extroverts suffer from bad breath, it has nothing to do with being an introvert.

@Op, tell him to brush at least twice daily, in the process, he should clean his tongue exceptionally well, he could get a tongue scraper. He should Floss, as this will clear plaques that brush can't clear within the mouth and he should always stay hydrated by drinking enough water so as to ensure the mouth is moist.

If everything fails, he may need to visit a dentist, that means the issue could be a stomach or throat issue and if there are some bacteria in there, the smell will expand to the mouth.
I hope he gets a cure soon.

All these long routine for a person, when some people only brush once and feel super good.

What's meant by floss by the way?

It is an habit of cleaning in between the teeth using dental floss, to remove food particles, plaques and other stains, as shown in the below images.

Mouthwash wouldn't help much, it might hide it for a while but what happens after you stop the usage? It flies back.

He should try the following;
-Warm salt water gargle both morning and night.
-Hydrogen peroxide is good, use it to brush or add to water and gargle
-Good mint sweet could help protect for some minutes, but only for some minutes.
- He should stay away from gum chewing, if he has to, it must be sugar-free gum.
- He needs to drink plenty of water as well to remain hydrated.

Ok, I'm gonna tell you my real life story.
Here we go,

There's a program we do for a year after graduating when you study my course, this program took me to a new region where beef is their major source of protein. These people like cow meet so much to the extent that you could hardly get fresh fish in the region.

I joined them in the regular consumption of the cow meet journey, and before I knew, I developed bad breath.
It wasn't bad to the extent that everyone could notice but if you are very close to me, you would know, perhaps if we lie down side by side, except if I just brushed.

Where did this come from?
I eat beef before now, just not as much and I 'm use to other meat e.g chicken and turkey. What could be the cause?
Well, I was managing, brushing twice a day with thorough tongue cleaning, gargling with warm salt-water daily, reading through the internet to see if anything could help, but none treated it.

I continued managing, and then I visited a boyfriend (now an ex) to spend some time with him, he had bad breath too but wasn't much obvious as mine and I didn't use it against him, didn't even act like I knew. But you see my own condition, this guy use it to talk down on me from time to time.

Anyways, his actions helped out, because I began to sort out many things in my head before and after leaving his place, what could have changed? I wasn't like this months ago, even when I had gum disease, it came with no odour, could it be that the gum disease is back?
It was treated back then and was cured.
I started looking for ways to get rid of it, still couldn't find.
Then at a time, I observed some toothpain after some meals and noticed these pains happen when beef entered some corners of my teeth and toothpick or floss wouldn't be able to help remove those remnants because they have travelled to the inner part, if I try harder I would hurt myself. I have enough space in some part of my teeth, so this is prone to happen commonly with certain meats.

This incident was what made me stop eating cow meat in this region.

Guess what! Voila!
Few weeks after all the beef remnants cleared off, the whole story of my bad breath vanished.

From then till now, I no longer experience the terrible breath. That was how I got to know that meat especially beef can be major cause of bad breath.

My observation now is that almost all protein rich foods can give a slight bad breath effect be it animal or plant protein. Foods like garlic, onions if taken too much can also cause bad breath, in fact, garlic can cause body odour if not in moderation.

Conclusion : Tell the person to stop eating beef, he could even stop meat in general for now till it gets properly cured and eat fish instead.

He may also need to be brushing after every consumption of protein rich foods e.g meat, fish, beans, eggs e.t.c. at least for now, till it gets permanently cured.

With time, it will get cured.

Peace.

@Ticam, you see yourself, your parents and guardians will send you to school and for trainings, you will instead be spending time with guys.
Your mom, dad and siblings wouldn't have used it to talk down on you, but you decided to go and spend time with a useless boyfriend.

That guy is a disgrace to manhood, and the fact you said he is now an ex makes me happy for you.

Don't your babe spend time with you?
And is it not good the guy let her know how serious it was?

Don't tell me you are like the guy, she says he was always using the condition to talk down on her. Telling her was nothing but talking down on her was the issue.

She could just be too emotional, he might not have meant it in a harsh way.

You're sounding like you are so insensitive like the guy. I wouldn't bother to reply you any longer, I'm glad they're no more together.

But what could he have done? I guess he was only reminding her so she could find a cure on time and not the way it's interpreted.

Are you the guy?
If you are not
Have you done something similar to someone else? Maybe yes

Talking down on her means belittling her in case you don't know.

What's the purpose of courtship or relationship if not for friendship and companionship?

I like what @Rocco said, her mom, dad, siblings wouldn't have used it to talk down on her assuming she went home instead of that good for nothing guy's place.
You know what they would have done?

They would let her know they are aware of her condition and would have worked together with her to find a cure, they will even be running up and down with her so it could get cured as soon as possible.
And that's what the guy should have done not talking down on her. It shows he wasn't matured enough to be in a relationship, no matter what his age could be.

If you have the same habit, you better change and stop justifying BS.
