Hello Dbedans

How do one differentiate between multitasking and working under pressure?

Mafy

Multitasking: You are doing two things at once.

Working under pressure: Someone is disturbing you repeatedly in a short time to finish a job.

Ruthk

- You are stressed when you're under pressure. You have multiple assignments to complete in a short time.

- You are juggling two things or more at a time when you're multitasking. Multitasking might not bring about stress if you're not pressured.

Rocco

When you're multitasking, it's safe.

When you're under pressure, it's finished.

Let's say your kids prefer Yam and eggs and you would like to eat yam porridge and vegetables.

Your chef is left with no other choice than to turn on 3 different burners. Burner 1 for yam, 2 for eggs and 3 for veg. Egg takes lesser time to fry right?

Immediately she's done she separated some yam into another pot on the burner used for eggs and continued with the porridge. Still battling with veg and the other half-done yam.

Now that's "Multitasking"

You come to the kitchen every 3 to 5 minutes asking her how far and complaining you are hungry. "Are you not done cooking? You should be done by now? The food is taking so long. I need to eat"; these are your words to her.

Then, she's "under pressure" - Cooking/working under pressure.

I hope you get it.

Even a dullard would get it with this superb explanation
