Family rushed to the clinic in the wake of eating poisonous mushrooms

Eleven individuals from an Amish family in the US, including children, have been taken to clinic after ingesting poisonous mushrooms, report says.

Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fire Organization described the poisoning as a "mass casualty occurrence" in Peach Bottom Township in York County, Pennsylvania.

The fire department told local news that an individual from the family had told specialists they became ill after consuming wild mushrooms that one of them "tracked down in the wood and brought back for dinner".

The relative who revealed the sicknesses strolled about a portion of a mile (0.8km) to call for help as the family doesn't have a phone, a representative for the fire department stated.

Six ambulances took the patients to clinic. The Pennsylvania State Police were likewise called to the scene.

The US Food and Drug Administration recommends talking with a knowledgable master to appropriately distinguish mushrooms that are safe to eat, and says it is a lot more secure to get mushrooms from supermarkets or expert mushroom ranches.

There are around 250 assortments of harmful wild mushrooms tracked down across North America, as indicated by the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control.
