I was with a friend last night, she's on the lookout for a job and was scrolling through a job site as we were talking, she suddenly asked me to come closer to see a funny job post.

The job title was very different from the job duties and responsibilities stated.

The job title reads Customer Support Specialist but everything about the job screams Telesales.

Nothing is about customer support in that job details, it's about cold calling and conversion of lead to sales.

People are weary of sales job these days, they know they might not see a single person to apply if they do not do it that way. I also think the recruiter is trying to feel as if he's smart here, so he purposely placed a different job title with the real job details. Thinking a lot of people do not read details, he's not even close to being smart at all.

If I'm into Telesales and know very well I can achieve the target, I wouldn't bother applying, because that shows how terrible the whole company is, not just the hiring managers. Those liars will kill you with frustration if you work for them. Nonsense

This recruiter is a bit better, some will lie about everything. I once applied for a job where I got to the interview before I learnt the job detail is totally different.
Some will lie about every single thing believing when you get there and know, you are already trapped but they are lying to themselves because you can't force me to do what I'm not interested in. A lot of people like these end up quitting but before they quit, they wouldn't even try to perform at all because they already feel cheated. Shame on these kind of recruiters.
Tell applicants exactly who you need.

There are some jobs nobody wanna do again, sales and traditional marketing is part of it, these jobs come with a lot of threats and frustration. I have done one before without a single pay at the end of the month. Most recruiters will include mouth watering compensations, knowing fully well there's no way you could get close to half of it with the rules they're going to set for you.
Recruiters know all these and so they lie to trap innocent people.
But at the end of the day, the person will have to leave, why not simply tell the truth so you could attract those that can do the job?

Most of them are pressured and frustrated from their line managers or the company owners. It seems like they can't do their own job if positions aren't filled on time, as a result they lie about the job and pass the frustration and pressure to another individual.

The company is desperate to get someone in that position, the top management knows fully well that no one would like to take that job, especially if their company is a hell to work at.
They start victimizing the people in HR or hiring department to get them someone ASAP, claiming it's part of what they're being paid for.
The hiring team place an ad everywhere the first time but nobody or close to none applied.
The second time....they have to lie....
It's happens more in fields where you should use money and not people. Who runs a successful telesales or telemarketing in 2024? When there are different platforms you could advertise. But no, management or top executives believe using people cost way less.
So they want those they could always victimize more than they are  victimizing the hiring team.
That's how the circle rolls...

My suggestion is;
When you are applying, read the description carefully
When you are being interviewed, observe well
When you get an offer letter, read it well
If it's what you know you can't do, dont start the job, it is better to not start what you can't finish.
Some will even write "and any other duties assigned"
What other duties?
Like a Midwife adding sweeping to her workload?
Break down the other duties Mr Man/ Madam and stop being a coward.
