What is the cause of the fight and battle between the two countries?
This is often considered the most unsolvable diplomatic issue in modern times.
It's a conflict rooted in religion, race and most importantly, land.
But how did this conflict begin? How and why did Jews decide to establish their homeland in Arab territory?
Sit back and learn from the Flashback Video

Summary of the video
In 1891 a Jewish Austrian Journalist arrived in paris, he worked for a newspaper company, his name was Theodore Herzel, he observed anti-semitism was everywhere in france, this made Herzel found his mission, he needed to find a country for the Jews, a place they could a call home, a place they could look without discrimination.
Where?
Herzel settled in the ancient homeland of the Jews, Palestine, which is often called Zionism.
Herzel is called the founder of political Zionism but he died before Israel was created.
Why did Jews left their homeland in the first place?
How did they come in conflict with the Arabs?
Jews, usually called themselves Isrealites back then, originated around 1000BC and lived in West Asia roughly the same place as modern day Isreal.
Jews trace their ancestry to three people, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
They believe God made a promise of a homeland to Abraham in the present day Isreal and Jews did live here, many call it the Golden age of ancient Israel, they were ruled by king David, who founded Jerusalem and after that, king Solomon who built the first temple.
Why did the Jews leave their homeland in the first place?
They left because of multiple
invasions, first came the Assyrian empire and then Babylonians, then the Persian empire, then the Roman empire and finally the Ottomans. Each invasion left the Jews leaving their homeland, the peak was probably during the Roman times, Jews tried to revolt against Rome, the response was a brutal crackdown, Roman's general massacred the land and destroyed the Jewish temple, those who survived fled.
In the 19th and 20th century, the Jews have left their homeland only few remained in the west Asia, the rest are now spread across countries and continents.
Now, back to the Zionists (Herzel and some others). They decided on creating the Jewish homeland in Palestine, which wasn't a vacant land, it was home to thousands of Palestinian people.
In 1896, Herzal met the Ottoman Sultan in Istanbul.
Herzel revealed an offer to the Ottoman Sultan, "we will pay off our foreign debt and in return colonize Palestine, an attempt to buy the land. Sultan rejected the offer.
Zionists then turn to plan B, which was individuals purchasing lands in Palestine. This was the first wave of migration, after buying lands and started farming, they fired Arab workers and farmers, they also set up their own towns and centres which made it clear they were there to rule and not to assimilate, things would pick up after the British got involved, the Zionist initially asked London for help and the response wasn't really enthusiastic, Bristish suggested alternatives to Palestine like, Uganda or Argentina but Zionists said no, they wanted their ancient homeland by all means.
Then came the world war (1914 to 1918), where suddenly Britain needed the support of the Jews, so in 1917, they offered complete support, the Ottoman was deafeated and Bristish was given control of Palestine and the Jewish migration largely picked up. Now the Jews had support.
In the 1930s, Jewish migration picked up again due to Nazi Germany, this time, Hitler targeted and massacred Jews and those who could, fled.
Jewish population and their determination to rule caused Palestinians to revolt, so British did what they know how to do best, they said let's partition, so we could have the Jewish and Arab states, but the Palestinians rejected, Bristish got fed up and left everything in the hands of the United Nations.
Now, United Nations ended up giving 55% of the landmass to the Jews and 44% to the Arabs (Palestinians), Arab areas included the West bank and Gaza. 55 plus 44 is equal to 99.
What happened to the remaining 1%?
That's the Jerusalem.
The city (Jerusalem) would be controlled by the United Nations.
Although, not supported by the Palestinians.
In 1948 the Jews declared the State of Israel which caused a war between them and some Arab countries (Palestine included) in 1948/49 and some subsequent year, specifically 1967. The Jews however, were able to get a lot of the land this way including the West bank.
The cause of the battle today?
Isreal still controls the West bank
Palestine wants the whole of West bank, Gaza and the East Jerusalem as partitioned by the United Nations, while Isreal says it's not possible, so resolution looks far away.
The Europe discriminated the Jews the Arabs (which includes the Palestinians) never did, the Europe drove them out, the Arabs accepted them.
The solution isn't that of military, it's instead political. Only a moderate on both sides could chart a course.
