Non-bio detergents for instance are made with chemicals that reduce skin irritation for those with sensitive skin.
So if you use this kind of detergent, it could be safe.
However, if you have sensitive skin and go ahead to bathe with a Bio detergent, you could develop issues especially when used more
than once.
So I'd say just be aware of your skin type and be familiar with the different types of detergents so you could know the one that would be safe for you in this type of situation (when you are stranded).
Don't turn it to a habit though.

Some people could develop body itching even after they sun dry their clothes adequately as a result of using bio detergents, this is common with babies and it's due to certain chemicals used in the production of those detergents.
Now, non-bio detergents can help these kind of people with reduced to no irritation, because they're made of skin-friendly chemicals. So it could be safe bathing with these type of detergent. That's what I mean.

You've asked if dishes could be done in the bathroom
You've asked if soaking alone without washing could make clothes clean
Now, it's if you could take your bath with detergent.
How do you come up with these weird questions?
I've learnt from them and still learning though but how do you come up with them?
I hope you won't come here someday and ask if you could spray air freshener on your body instead of perfume.
@Op, I remember using it at a time and my only observation was that, it saves water since it's not going to foam like soap. You won't have to rinse with excess water.
So if you want to save water, you can go for it.

- Oct 02, 2024, 07:51 PMIf it's not safe, I believe it will be boldly written on every container of each detergents.
That doesn't mean you should say I asked you to bathe with detergent please, just saying

- Oct 02, 2024, 07:36 PMI think it's safe, it may not be a good option though. There was a time I ran out of my bathing soap and bathed with detergent for a week or thereabout, nothing happened to my skin, still the same.
I only noticed my body stayed fresher for longer period.

- Oct 02, 2024, 07:31 PMI don't think it's safe because of the chemicals in detergent, there's a reason it's called detergent and with the sole purpose of doing laundry not bathing.
I'd rather use a multi-purpose bar soap to bathe instead of detergent.
There are multi-purpose bar soaps you could use for both laundry and bathing, most people have this bar soap handy as well, and they are safe for the skin. I can continue bathing with the multi-purpose bar soap for as long as I want but not with detergent.

- Oct 02, 2024, 07:06 PMIf it's not often, you only run out of your soap or bodywash and you use detergent like once in 6 months or even a year, nothing negative will definitely happen. If you turn it to frequent habit however, I don't know if it will be safe.
