Chewing Gum To Be Eliminated from Roads In South Devon

A grant to eliminate chewing gum and keep it from being dropped has been awarded to a committee in Devon.

Teignbridge Chamber has been given £18,297 for the venture.

The gathering is one of more than 50 across the nation to get funding from the Chewing Gum Team.

The fund will be utilized to give expert gear called gum busters to clear chewing gum off pavements. The board will likewise introduce instructive signs to urge individuals to put their chewing gum in a bin.

Charity Keep Britain Clean said the plan saw chewing gum firms invest up to £10m over five years.


Mark Pepper said the funding had empowered the gathering to get one gum buster machine and two convenient buster knapsacks.

Mr Pepper said "it's a habit we really want to change" and encouraged individuals to put their chewing gum in the bins.
