I have a new web address I want to start working on and it displaying wordpress at the end, as in it has /wp/ at the end of the web address, e.g working .com/wp/. Without it the web page would not respond, it's still a new website though, just want to start working on it, I have uninstalled and reinstalled but still the same.
How can I fix this please?

Ok, since it's new and you are yet to properly work on the site, go back to Softaculous to reinstall. This time, clear the "wp" from your directory.

What i'm saying is this, immediately you get to wordpress Softaculous and you attempt to install, first thing you'll see on the board that will appear to you is protocol, after protocol - choose domain, after this - you'll see "in directory", wordpress automatically adds "wp" as the site's directory that's why you have the address that way, so erase the "wp" and reinstall.

If it's a site you have worked on, just backup, reinstall as described above and restore the backup.

Ok thanks, I hope erasing the wp won't affect anything.

Nothing at all. You'll automatically get a directory in your root folder.
