Perhaps you are just using Simple Machine Forum also known as SMF for the first time and you wonder how these options are made available for users, it should be for moderators as we commonly experience from other forums and communities.

Well, you don't have to worry, there's a way out. All you need to do is follow the steps bellow.

1. Go to "Admin" from your Main Menu
2. Click on "Permissions"
3. Click on "Modify" for modification of each group.
4.Scroll down to 'Topics' and disallow the permissions you don't want others to have or allow those you want them to have access to.
